Esperanza
Here is the end of the reverse loop as it appears from behind the backdrop at Spadra.

The Bridge
The reverse loop on the left joins with the double track main at a spot called Bryn Mawr Junction at 9th Street..

Bryn Mawr

For the time being, the track doubles back in Esperanza.    Bryn Mawr is the hidden reversing section used to begin the return westbound, down the hill.  Trains re-enter the mainline westbound at the west end of Spadra.

Plans include extending the mainline in the future, eventually traversing the entire layout on an upper level directly over the lower level, but with the aisles reversed.  The upper level is planned to be mainly single track with sidings for meeting opposing trains.  Scenery is expected to be desert-mountainous.

Bryn Mawr will remain after the upper level is completed, allowing shorter runs for open houses, and doubling as a short, easy way to return to the lower level.

Presently, this is the end of our tour of the California Southern.    Click below to go...
