May 18 - Start of HSR operations.
May 18 - EASTERN BRANCH begins service, from Great Western Railway (GWR) Station at Stuart & Caroline to King & Wellington via Stuart, James St North and King St East.
May 18 - WESTERN BRANCH begins service, from Great Western Railway (GWR) Station at Stuart & Caroline to King & James via Stuart and James St North
July 1 - EASTERN BRANCH extended east along King to Wentworth.
July 1 - WESTERN BRANCH extended west along King to Locke.
July 1 - EAST HAMILTON route begins service from Great Western Railway (GWR) Station at Stuart & Caroline to Main & Connaught Ave via Stuart, James St North, King St East, Wentworth and Main.

RED route is renamed GWR STATION AND KING ST WEST route, no change in route. (informally refered to as Red Route)
GREEN route is renamed GWR STATION AND KING ST EAST route, no change in route. (informally refered to as Green Route)

June 3 - JAMES STREET route begins service, from James & Guise to James & Stuart. (informally refered to as Check or Plaid Route)
June 17 - YORK STREET route begins service, from Dundurn & York to York & James. (informally refered to as Red Route, no conflict with other 'Red' route as the lines do not cross.)
1879
May 30 - JAMES STREET route extended south along James from Stuart to Herkimer.
1882
August - With the takeover of Great Western Railway (GWR) by Grand Trunk Railway (GTR), GWR in route names replaced with GTR in all HSR routes.
1883
June 11 - JAMES STREET route extended west along Herkimer from James to Queen.
1885
July 27 - GTR STATION AND KING ST WEST route renamed KING ST WEST route, no change in route.
1886
February 1 - KING ST WEST route discontinued.
February 1 - JAMES STREET route discontinued.
February 1 - JAMES NORTH & KING WEST route begins service, from James & Guise to King & Queen.
February 1 - GTR STATION, JAMES AND HERKIMER route begins service, from Stuart & Bay to Herkimer & Queen.
1887
July 11 - GTR STATION AND KING ST EAST route is renamed GREEN route, no change in route.
July 11 - JAMES STREET AND KING WEST route is renamed RED route, no change in route.
July 11 - GTR STATION, JAMES AND HERKIMER is renamed PLAID route, no change in route.
1890
June 16 - BARTON STREET route begins service, from James & Barton to Barton & Wentworth.
June 16 - RED route is renamed JAMES NORTH & KING WEST, no change in route.
June 16 - EAST HAMILTON rerouted from Wentworth & King east on King, south on Burlington (now Sanford) to Main, east on Main to Trolley (now Gage). Service on Wentworth and on Main between Wentworth and Burlington discontinued.
June 16 - GREEN route extended along King East to Burlington.
June 16 - PLAID route is renamed SOUTH DIVISION, no change in route.
1891
May 2 - SOUTH DIVISION is extended west on Herkimer to Locke.
November 14 - BARTON STREET route merged with the SOUTH DIVISION route, creating BARTON, JAMES & HERKIMER route, running from Herkimer & Locke to Barton & Wentworth via Herkimer, James and Barton.
1892
June 29 - GREEN route converted to electric operations, extended west along Stuart to Grand Trunk Railway (GTR) Station at Caroline.
June 29 - EAST HAMILTON route reduced, now running from King & Burlington to Main & Trolley via Burlington and Main.
June 30 - JAMES NORTH & KING WEST route converted to electric operations.
July 11 - BARTON, JAMES & HERKIMER route converted to electric operations (Had been changed on July 1, but power supply problems required temporary re-introduction of horsecars)
July 15 - YORK STREET route converted to electric operations between James and Dundurn.
July 19 - Remainder of YORK STREET route converted to electric operations
1893
January 1 - GREEN route is renamed KING ST EAST & GTR route, no change in route.
May 17 - JAMES NORTH & KING WEST discontinued.
May 17 - WEST KING & STEAMBOAT WHARF route begins service, from Guise loop at John & Guise to Herkimer & Locke via Guise, James, King, Margaret, Main and Locke.
May 17 - KING ST EAST & GTR route is renamed EAST KING & STUART route, no change in route.
After June 1 - INCLINE RAILWAY route begins service, from Hamilton & Barton Incline Railway at James St to King & James.
August 14 - EAST KING & STUART route extended east on King and south on Sherman to Main.
September 5 - BARTON, JAMES & HERKIMER route extended east along Barton to Ottawa, north on Ottawa to the tracks of the Grand Trunk Railroad

August 30 - EAST HAMILTON route presumed discontinued.
After September 13 - YORK STREET route extended along York to Cemetery Gates
1895
March 5 - WEST KING & STEAMBOAT WHARF discontinued.
March 5 - JAMES NORTH & KING WEST route restarted, from Guise loop at Guise & John to King & James via Guise and James, then forming one-way counter-clockwise loop along King, Margaret, Main, Locke, Herkimer and James.
March 5 - BARTON, JAMES & HERKIMER route extended along Locke, Main, Margaret and King to James, forming one-way clockwise loop.
1899
June 5 - WENTWORTH route begins service, from Mount Hamilton Incline Railway at Wentworth St to King & James via Wentworth and King.

EAST KING & STUART and BARTON, JAMES & HERKIMER routes discontinued.
KING EAST & BARTON route begins service, from Barton & Ottawa to Main & Sherman via Barton, James North, King East and Sherman (service on Burlington and Main discontinued, new track on King east of Burlington and on Sherman).
GTR & JAMES SOUTH route begins service, from GTR Station east on Stuart, south on James to Herkimer, west on Herkimer to Locke, north on Locke to Main, west on Main to Margaret, north on Margaret to King, east on King to James forming one-way clockwise loop.
1904
KING EAST & BARTON - DEERING BRANCH begins service, half of all KING EAST & BARTON cars diverted north on Birch onto tracks of HRER, east along Burlington to Sherman.
1913
GTR & JAMES SOUTH route discontinued.
BURLINGTON-JAMES SOUTH route begins service, from Barton & Kenilworth to King & James via Kenilworth, tracks of HRER, Burlington and James, then south on James to Herkimer, west on Herkimer to Locke, north on Locke to Main, west on Main to Margaret, north on Margaret to King, east on King to James forming one-way clockwise loop.
WENTWORTH route discontinued.
WENTWORTH-STUART route begins service, from Mount Hamilton Incline Railway at Wentworth St to GTR Station via Wentworth, King, James and Stuart.
CROSSTOWN route begins service, from King & Sanford to Burlington & Sherman via Sanford, Wilson, Birch and Burlington.
October - KING EAST & BARTON route discontinued.
October - BELT LINE route begins service, bi-directional loop from King & James via James, Barton, Kenilworth, Main, Sherman and King.
1922
JAMES NORTH & KING WEST and YORK STREET routes discontinued.
WESTDALE-JAMES NORTH route begins service, from Cline Ave & King to Guise loop at Guise & John via King St West, James St North and Guise.

May 23 - CROSSTOWN route rerouted from Birch St onto parallel private Right-Of-Way (ROW).
1927
Hamilton Radial Bartonville branch is taken over by HSR, becomes BARTONVILLE route, from King & Main to King & Cochrane.
WESTDALE-JAMES NORTH route cut back to Westdale loop at King & Stirling.
ABERDEEN-STUART route extended to Longwood loop at Longwood & Aberdeen.
December 20 - FIRESTONE route begins service, from Kenilworth & Burlington ROW north on private right-of-way.
1929
July 30 - BARTONVILLE route discontinued. All streetcar service on King St East east of Main. discontinued.
1930
WENTWORTH-STUART and ABERDEEN-STUART routes discontinued. All streetcar service on Stuart St discontinued.
YORK & ABERDEEN route begins service, from Cemetery gates on York St to Longwood & Aberdeen via York, James, Herkimer, Queen and Aberdeen.
WENTWORTH-BURLINGTON route begins service, from Mount Hamilton Incline Railway at Wentworth St to Burlington & Wellington via Wentworth, King, James and Burlington.
Circa 1935
WENTWORTH-BURLINGTON route discontinued.
WENTWORTH route begins service, from Mount Hamilton Incline Railway at top of Wentworth to King & Wentworth. During rush hours, from Mount Hamilton Incline Railway at top of Wentworth to Gore St turnback at James & Gore, via Wentworth, King and James.
1936
WENTWORTH route cut back to Wentworth & Cumberland
1939
FIRESTONE route discontinued.
June 3 - YORK & ABERDEEN and YORK & KING WEST routes discontinued. All streetcar service on York St discontinued.
June 3 - ABERDEEN-KING WEST route begins service, from Longwood loop at Longwood & Aberdeen to Gore St turnback via Aberdeen, Queen, Herkimer and James, returning via James, King, Margaret, Main, Locke, Herkimer, Queen and Aberdeen.
1941
INCLINE RAILWAY route discontinued.
May 12 - ABERDEEN-KING WEST, WESTDALE-JAMES NORTH, BURLINGTON-JAMES SOUTH routes discontinued. All streetcar service on Guise, Margaret, Main St West, Locke, Herkimer west of Queen discontinued.
May 12 - BURLINGTON-WESTDALE route begins service, from Westdale loop at King & Stirling to Barton & Kenilworth via King St West, James St North, Burlington, Burlington ROW and Kenilworth.
1942
October 11 - WENTWORTH route discontinued.
YORK & ABERDEEN route begins service, from Gore St turnback to TH&B bridge over Aberdeen via James, Herkimer, Queen and Aberdeen.
1947
June 26 - YORK & ABERDEEN route discontinued.
1948
January 31 - CROSSTOWN route discontinued.
1949
August 4 - BURLINGTON-WESTDALE route discontinued. All streetcar service on King St West discontinued.
August 4 - BURLINGTON route begins service, from Sanford yard at King & Sanford to Barton & Kenilworth via King St East, James St North, Burlington, Burlington ROW and Kenilworth.
1950
December 9 - BURLINGTON route discontinued. All streetcar service on James St North north of Barton, Burlington, Burlington ROW and Kenilworth north of Barton discontinued.
1951
April 6 - BELT LINE route discontinued. All streetcar service in Hamilton ends. (For now...)
