-The last 2 wigwags in Wisconsin (Sheboygan) were retired in December, 2020. Brent Georgi confimed this.
-The last active mainline wigwag in the US, in Delhi, Co. was removed on 3/9/21. It is supposedly
going to the Colorado Railroad Museum.

It seems that the wigwag at Vernon, Ca (Malabar yard) was either stolen
or removed by BNSF signal crews. Just the motor box and banner are missing.
Unable to confirm if this was done by the railroad or not.

Two wigwag remnants that still exist in California's Central Valley
were photographed by Scott Thomas. One near Lindsay and another
just outside Porterville on the long abandoned ATSF Porterville - Orosi Dist.

Museum page added for San Luis Obispo Railroad Museum.

Trying to figure out a wigwag mystery in Tulare, Ca. It appears
that the wigwag that was on display went away with the caboose that was
used by the Tulare Welcome Center back in 2008. A couple years ago another
(well part of) a wigwag surfaced at the entrance to the Tulare Skate Park . Is this the same signal?
(or what's left of it)

Nathan Gonzales comfirmed that the motor box and banner have

from his road trip to Southern California last May. Many wigwags

7/22/00 -OK...so I guess things have been a little slow. That and
having to rebuild my computer has kept me from adding anything
new other than letters. (also very busy with my "real" job)
I finally have some pictures of the Casmalia wigwag (taken in 1983)
that were sent in by Denny Dollahon. Hopefully some updated
pictures will come in soon.

6/30/00 -Added the Colorado Railroad Museum to the
Museum section. Check out their prestine WRRS
Autoflag! Thanks to museum member Robert Jensen

6/13/00 -Another old Pacific Electric wigwag was recently
discovered by Pete Mauriello. It's located in Hawthorn, Ca
on the old PE Hawthorne Line.

6/2/00 -More photos added to the Henry Ford
and Greenfield Village page . They are the owners of
a pristine WRRS Autoflag.

6/1/00 -Updated Oregon pages to reflect one less
wigwag on CORP's Siskiyou Line. The Yoncalla
wigwag was retired on 5/31/00.

5/30/00 -Added the original Southern Pacific
maintenance manual to the tech section.
This is a scan (converted to text) of the
rebuild manual that was used by SP signal maintainers
from 1949. This is a must if you own or maintain a
Magnetic Signal Co. wigwag.

5/29/00 -Added a scan of the wiring diagram
for the WRRS Model 5 Autoflag . Will be adding
more stuff to the tech. section soon.

5/27/00 -Another wigwag bites the ballast...
Bakersfield is now gone . Two others to watch:
Martinez, Ca and Hugo (Three Pines) Or.

5/23/00 -Made some changes to the Southern Cal. section
including adding a new picture of the Bell/Huntington park
wigwag, and removing Bell from the Alameda Corridor page.

5/22/00 -Some interesting pictures were sent in by
Ralph Squillace of some old PE wigwag cantilevers
that are still in Los Angeles. These run along Exposition Blvd.
there. I added these pictures to the " Partial Wigwags " page.

5/15/00 -Changed up the Northern California
and Southern California main pages.

-Added a Northwestern Pacific page.

-Added pictures of Shingle Springs (Ca) to
Northern Ca. wigwags from the past section.

5/8/00- I usually don't mention new letters here, but I have
added so many recently that I thought I'd go ahead and plug it.
Plus, we get a detailed trip report from Evan Werkema
on his recent trip to Southern California and
the Central Valley.

5/6/00 -Added a new page containing detail shots of
the 2 former SP F-units just delivered to GGRM on 5/5/00.

4/25/00 -Evan Werkema sends in a few new images. Another
view of the 55th St. upper quadrant wigwag in Alameda
Corridor (now retired) and an upper quadrant signal in
Lamitar, NM. (current status unknown)

4/20/00 -I just couldn't sit still after David Epling sent me
that picture of the Pittsburg, CA wigwag. So on Tues.
4/18 I made the trip back out there and caught it in action.
While I was out there I stopped by the Martinez wigwag
and grabbed an updated photo with Amtrak #716
powered by "reserve" F-40 231.

4/13/00 -Finally we have a picture of that elusive
wigwag located in Pittsburg Ca . Thanks to David Epling for
snagging a shot of it last weekend. There are now
4 confirmed wigwags still in service in the SF Bay Area.

4/10/00 -Added Glendale Oregon to the Museum section.
Includes a picture of the wigwag in action in 1989 from
noted rail photographer Don Buchholz.

4/4/00 -2 more wigwags have been located in Indiana. Ralph Bell
sends in 2 pictures of the wigwags in Sullivan along the
Indiana Railroad (former Illinois Central).

3/28/00 -Washington State has finally been added to the site. Camron
Settlemier sends in pictures of the UPRR wigwag in Hoquiam Wa.

3/17/00 -Just received confirmation from Paul Krot that one of the last (if not the last)
wigwags in Alameda Corridor has been removed. Alameda and 55th
(upper quadrant) was taken down, along with the ROW to make
way for the new A.C. trench. (exact date of removal unknown)
Add this one to list growing list of fallen flagmen.

3/14/00 -Added four more pages to the museum section, including
Fillmore and Western, Carlton OR, Hermiston OR, and

It's located on the CERA (old NKP) in Roseburg, IN.

9/24/99...................................Though this is not specifically about wigwags, I have put up a few pages on my recent trip to Dunsmuir and Southern Oregon. Finally got to see
                                               some of the wigwags on my site in person, also got to put faces behind some email addresses that I correspond with regularly. What a great trip!

8/30/99....................................Only days after adding Alameda and Tweedy (Alameda Corridor) to the list of surviving wigwags, some bad news arrives. Check the letters section.

8/26/99....................................The Southern California section is growing very quickly! Ralph Squillace sends in his collection of Redlands wigwag pictures.

8/25/99....................................Added three more images to Alameda Corridor wigwag section. Alameda and Tweedy.

8/24/99....................................More from Southern California! Paul Krot sends in some awesome pictures of the 4 Gardena wigwags. This is a MUST SEE! Time forgot this town and the
                                               Pacific Electric still lives.
